Degradation Description
Four small parcels of tidal marsh within the Bluff Point Coastal Reserve each were tidally connected to the Poquonock River by underground metal culverts. Over time, these culverts had weakened and collapsed, greatly restricting tidal exchange and degrading the quality of the marshes.
