Degradation Description
The invasive weed Phragmites australis (common reed) had been spreading across this marsh system for several decades. Introductions must have been at several locations given the patchy distribution of the plant at this site. Colonies such as these tend to spread out in a circular pattern at a rate of about 3% per year.
