Project Description
The previous landowners initially approached the Land Trust about selling the property to them. After walking through the property and viewing the extensive floodplain forest and riparian area, as well as extensive road frontage and suitability of the property for development, the Land Trust acted quickly to complete the transaction. The 101-acre property was acquired for $557,654 with funding coming from a variety of sources including CT DEEP's Open Space and Watershed Land Acquisition Grant Program, anonymous donations through the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, and the Bafflin Foundation.
